Keynote: Embracing VR/AR within the Enterprise (Accenture)
Enterprise VR/AR Spending is expected to reach $13.1B in 2019 (Source: SuperData). So where are they spending all of that money? And are they getting the value out of this level of investment in VR/AR? We are seeing spending across the entire value chain of an enterprise including functional areas such as Product Design, Build/ Operate/ Move/ Service, Learning, B2B Sales and Marketing, Digital Workplace, and a variety of ways to enable Insights/Decision Making based on specific industry needs. We are also seeing an increase in demand with enterprise buyers with the influx of new devices, new platforms, more proof points of ROI, and the promise of 5G. In this talk, Mr. Welsh will provide insights into what Accenture is seeing in terms of where our clients are spending money in these various areas and, in particularly, what are the keys for them to move from pilot usage of VR/AR technology to larger scale deployments.

Keynote: Conquer Adoption Anxiety and Deliver a Rapid Return on Enterprise VR/AR (Shockoe)
Many organizations tread lightly, if at all, into VR/AR due to the perceived maturity and expense of the technology. However, many organizations see significant returns from modest VR/AR investments that deliver incremental business process improvements. The common thread in these results? A strong VR/AR strategy with well-defined success criteria that uses existing internal infrastructures and cloud computing.

Attendees will gain insight into the following:
● Developing an Emerging Technology Strategy - Implement a sound strategy focused on incremental, pragmatic improvements. Determine which devices, features, and services to implement, and when to implement them.
● Harnessing Implementation Analytics - Identify KPIs early and reference them often to keep implementation on course and allow for quick corrections when needed.
● Leveraging Existing Systems - It takes more than an end-user device to implement emerging technology. Understand how to tie-in to your existing service layer to compound benefits and reduce the longer term investment.
● Deploying for a Shifting Workforce - Delivering on the promise of emerging technology can be complicated with an aging workforce. By leveraging internal “evangelists”, organizations can facilitate user adoption, and minimize training costs.

Productive Failure: Defining Value in VR Training
You may have heard the question, "what would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?" If the answer suggests terrific outcomes, we logically have to also ask what our trainees would try if they knew the consequences of failure could be disastrous. Industries as diverse as the military, retail, and medical science are turning to VR to provide a safe environment in which trainees can make mistakes when to do so in the physical world simply isn't an option. In this talk, we'll examine use cases of VR technology in training environments and how success was measured.

Envisioning A New Way of Working, thanks to IHG’s Virtual Hotels (Panel)
IHG's mainstream brands, including the beloved Holiday Inn brand, are taking a page from the Hollywood pre-visualization playbook and have built computer-generated (CG) hotels, or “virtual hotels” in partnership with visual innovation studio TRICK 3D.
By creating computer-generated (CG), 3D models, the brands are now able to immerse owners and potential owners inside of their hotels faster and more easily than ever before - they can even make design changes and approvals by viewing fabrics, colors and other materials in the virtual hotel environment. This digital wizardry enables IHG's mainstream brands to get fresh design concepts to hotels for owners and guests to experience faster than ever before.
Hear from experts on how this process works across the IHG enterprise, how it's changed workflows, and the stellar results achieved by IHG's mainstream brands.
It's a good story!  IHG started with visualizations as a sales tool and now use them for design, marketing and training. It's a smart end-to-end strategy.

VR/AR: Bridging the Gap between the Intangible and the Built Environment
Virtual reality and augmented reality, like many technologies, began as a concept of experiencing intangible objects and environments digitally. As technology progressed, that concept became a reality and has transformed into a multibillion dollar industry that allows the real world to be virtualized and augmented. In today’s AEC industry, architects, engineers, and owners have to deal with intangible project concepts, such as how people experience time and space in the built environment. This presentation looks at the past, present and future of VR / AR in the AEC industry to address the question of how we can use VR / AR to design and develop environments that produce outcomes that better serve the users that inhabit them.

Beyond FOMO and Fence Sitting: Making VR/AR Good Business
Many businesses are wondering how and when to adopt VR/AR and suffer from the fear of missing out. Others are sitting on the fence, reluctant to commit to a considered internal-facing product. The result is half-baked technical POCs that do little to prove the relevance of VR for enterprise. A Gartner report last year stated "The biggest barrier to the wide adoption of immersive technologies is the lack of good user experience." In this talk I will discuss how we bring design thinking, experience design and service design methodologies to VR/AR to create relevant, needed experiences which demonstrate the value of these technologies for business.
